Westmeath Community Development is a Local Development Company that provides communities, individuals and businesses in Co Westmeath with a broad range of supports through a team of people who work collaboratively to deliver results. The company is implementing the Rural Development Programme (LEADER) 2014 – 2020 on behalf of Westmeath Local Community Development Committee.
The company now seeks suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy for a one year period:
LEADER Development Worker
Primary School Teachers are currently being sought by Westmeath Community Development to help with homework clubs which will operate from Monday to Thursday for one hour per day in Athlone and Mullingar.
Payment will be made to suitable candidates at the rate of €23 gross.
The children taking part in the homework clubs are children of asylum seekers in direct provision accommodation in Athlone and Syrian Refugees in Mullingar who require assistance with various aspects of their homework.
The successful applicants will need to have Garda clearance and will be required to sign up to safeguarding protocols and will start work with the projects in January 2019.
The Homework Club is funded under the SICAP programme.
