End of an era in Westmeath Community Development
Longstanding CEO of Westmeath Community Development (WCD), Mr Joe Potter, retired after 23 years service with the company on Wednesday September 26th 2018.
Joe, a Galway native, but resident of Collinstown for many years, had been the first employee of Westmeath Community Development and had been at the helm over many years as the organisation expanded and grew to over 250 staff and participants.
He has been an essential part of the story of LEADER in Co Westmeath, where his passion for rural and community development shone through.
Joe’s service with WCD was recognised at an event in Mullingar Park Hotel organised by the Directors and Staff, and attended by Joe and the Potter family.
Incoming CEO, Frank Murtagh said “The Directors and Staff of WCD wish Joe a happy, healthy and busy retirement and we sincerely thank him for the leadership he has given WCD over the last 23 years. “
While retiring from WCD, Joe has no intention of heading for the pipe and slippers and between his local community, Lough Lene Gaels and his new grandson he will be a busy man!
