Westmeath Community Development (WCD) Enterprise & Employment Mediation Service
We have trained career, employment and information mediators who can provide you with the help you need to reach your training, employment or self employment goals. Services are free and available to all.
We will help you find the tools and resources to help with your job search through the following activities:
- One to one employment and self employment mentoring support
- Self-marketing skills, motivation & confidence building, skills and training analysis support/training
- CV preparation tailored to suit employers needs.
- Identifying, defining and transferring your skills set from one career to another
- Guided job search & research skills training and supports
- Interview prep and training specific to job type and application
- Links to employers, other local support services e.g. Dept Social Protection, FAS, VEC, CEB, training and work placement opportunities
- Information and support on labour market trends, areas of growth etc
- Enterprise, business start up support e.g. business appraisals, business plans, applications for BTWEA payment, grants and loan funds e.g. LEADER, CEB, WCD grants.
- Access and referral to CEB 3 day Business Appraisal Programme
- Access and referral to WCD/FAS 6 month Business Start Up Programme
Our mediators can help you develop a training, employment or self employment business start up plan and take supported steps to matching your interests, experience and abilities with current training, employment and self employment options that are available to you. Services are tailored to meet the individual training & employment needs of each client.

Intreo Work & Skills 2021 Online Campaign
Intreo Work and Skills Week 2021 will launch on Monday (19 April) and will run until Thursday (22 April). There are a number of online events as part of a week-long Intreo Work & Skills 2021 campaign which is being timed to coincide with the planned and phased reopening of the economy. Participants can register for more than one session.
The aim of the week is to help employers and jobseekers get ready for the reopening of our economy. Learn about supports available from Intreo and other government bodies. Events are listed below.

Are you interested in training and pursuing a career with one of Irelands most respected and successful retail department store groups?
If you are considering applying for a job with Shaws, soon to open its latest department store in Mullingar, then this course is for you.
Participation on the course will significantly improve your job application and preparation process, you will improve your interview skills, gain first-hand an in-depth understanding of the stores different departments, product range, brands, concession partners, company values, and may help you secure a winning interview.
