Care Skills Course

Westmeath Community Development (WCD) in partnership with the Department of Social Protection & Westmeath LCDC offers FETAC Care Skills Course to jobseekers 

Who should apply: Anyone who is currently unemployed and on a DSP payment and interested in working in the healthcare environment.

Course content and learning outcomes: The course will provide learners with comprehensive knowledge and skills to care for clients in a number of care environments.

There are 4 units of study all FETAC Level 5:

Unit 1:           Care Support

Unit 2:           Team working

Unit 3:           Work Experience

Unit 4:           Care of the Older

Assessment of Learning:

All participants will undertake the following Assessment Methods for the above modules:

Written theory assignments  & practical skills demonstrations.

Venue: Course delivered from Ballynacargy
Duration & Time: Five weeks Tuesdays to Friday 10 am to 4 pm
Start date: April 5th 2016
Number of places: 12 places on course
Eligibility criteria: Individuals (18 years +) who are unemployed and interested in securing work in the care industry. 
Educational level: Leaving Certificate or equivalent and/or individuals with prior experience or learning in the care industry.

Only individuals interested in working in the care industry should apply, 100 % attendance on course is required.
