Lilliput Legend July 7th
Adventure Racing is fast becoming the sport of choice for many here in Ireland. The combination of skills and sports required is proving very popular with all age groups and abilities. As all of these events are a combination of running, cycling, kayaking and climbing they allow you to excel in your own field. There are upwards on maybe 15 to 20 of these type events held every year and all of them are held on Ireland’s coast. With this in mind Lilliput Adventure Centre decided to offer its own unique event just outside Mullingar on the shores of Lough Ennell.
The Lilliput Legend will have two formats The Kick Ass (65k) and The Bad Ass (45k), each of which is demanding and challenging and yet achievable for all. “At the end of the day in most of these events you compete against yourself with your main goal or priority being to finish.” explains Franky Wright, organiser of the Lilliput Legend.
This event is hugely supported by Westmeath Sports Partnership. Part funding for the marketing of the event has been provided by Westmeath Community Development through the Rural Development (LEADER) Programme.
If you would like to participate in this event to see how far you can push yourself you can get further details on www.lilliputlegend.com or register on www.runireland.ie or contact Franky on (087) 8106951.
