ILDN Enterprise Awards Winners 2019

The finals of the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) Enterprise Awards took place in Tullamore on May 16th last. Minister for Employment Affairs & Social Protection, Regina Doherty TD, presented the awards on the night. The overall winner was Margaret O’Connor for her new collection of headwear - Cloud Nine.

The ILDN awards bring together nominees who have started their own businesses via the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance with the assistance of the 49 Local Development Companies from across the country.

Westmeath was proudly represented by Madeline Dineen, of Maddie Dineen Garden Design on the night –

Engaging with Westmeath Community Development’s Trainee Entrepreneur CE Programme (TEP) and the SICAP programme in 2016, Maddie completed a Garden Design Programme with the Garden Design Academy of Ireland. She then went on to successfully establish Maddie Dineen Garden Design with the support of the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance from the Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection in 2017.

From all the team in Westmeath Community Development we want to congratulate Maddie on reaching the finals last week and wish her continued success with her business.

More details on the awards ceremony can be read in last weeks’ Irish Times article -
