Development and Provision of Training Programme
To develop a Community Based Integrated Best Practice Model of Suicide Prevention for Youth to incorporate prevention, intervention and postvention components.
The development of a specific Training Programme relevant for a selection of youth worker professionals, representative of a broad range of services, including education, youth work and mental health supports, which will assist in:
a) Implementation of the recommendations of Action Area 3: Youth Organisations and Services of ‘Reach Out’ – The National Strategy for Action on Suicide Prevention (2005 – 2014)
b) Provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to the mental health care needs that arise in youth work.

REPORTING AND TIMESCALE:
Contract Duration: 1st June 2012 to 31st November 2012.
- development and delivery of training programme
- provision of electronic version and 5 hard copies of Community Based Integrated Best Practice Model of Suicide Prevention for Youth relevant to all agencies participating in the project.
Copyright and intellectual ownership:
The copyright and ownership of this work shall be held by Westmeath Community Development Ltd.
Consultants are invited to submit proposals to undertake this work. Details should include:
how the Consultant will ensure the contract requirements are to be met
a detailed profile of the personnel who will undertake the work including previous relevant experience
A proposed timetable and detailed costs including expenses and VAT.
Training Programme required to be delivered to two Groups of 15 in the locations of Mullingar and Athlone
70 Hours direct training contact per group.
Participants will be recruited by WCDL
After initial recruitment of participants, Trainer/Consultant to be responsible for ongoing direct contact with agencies and their representative participants.
All required course Material to be provided by Trainer.
Venue/Refreshments to be supplied by WCDL.
