During Irish Baby Massage week (October 21-27) babies around the Mullingar and Athlone area celebrated this important week by joining other babies and mums at the local Baby Massage-a-thon run by Community Mothers. During 2012 the national tally reached over 1,800 babies massaged in classes within that one week.

The benefits of massage are abundant and they last a lifetime, from easing wind and constipation, colic relief and helping digestion to regulating sleep and enhancing bonding. The classes give you the opportunity to meet other parents and have some one-on-one time with your little one in those precious first few months, and most of all they're fun! Westmeath Community Mothers is a service provided by Westmeath Community Development and is funded by HSE.
