Transnational Visit to Finland

On a recent visit to mid-Finland Westmeath Community Development and Offaly Local Development Company met with their LEADER counterparts to discuss the development of craft co-operation projects involving artisan craft makers from the midland regions of both countries.

The development of the craft sector is a key action under Enterprise Development in the current LEADER 2014-2020 Programme in Westmeath.  As the sector is primarily comprised of small rural businesses working collaboratively with others provides enriched learning experiences for all those involved.
