Westmeath Traveller Project hosted our Annual Traveller Pride Event in Grange estate Mullingar on Friday 22nd July. We had a large number of Travellers of all ages and members of different agencies in attendance.
The Day was a celebration of Traveller Culture and Lifestyle. We organised a Wagon, Tent and Tinsmith to come along on the day, from the Living History Project in Navan. We had a display of old Traveller Photo’s, Travellers singing traditional Traveller songs, activities for children and provided refreshments and lunch.
This year we decided to have a range of service providers attending and set up information Tables relevant to Travellers . We would like to thank those services that took part –

– Travelling Fostering Services.
Westmeath Traveller Project secured funding from RAPID and the Westmeath County Council’s Festival and Events grant and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our funders.
We would also like to thank Catherine Mc Entee of Youth Work Ireland Midlands for her ongoing support and providing the venue and the Labour for the refreshments.
Last but not least a big thank you goes to colleagues, Caroline, Bridgie, Christine, Teresa and Mary and the SICAP Goal 1 Co-ordinator Linda Jo Quinn who helped make the organising and running of this event possible.
