Westmeath Community Development (WCD), is the local development company for the county. We administer a range of programmes and support services to individuals and community groups that improves quality of life through the provision of lifelong learning, capacity building and labour market supports.
Funded by the HSE, WCD have established a Primary Healthcare Project for the Traveller Community in Westmeath. This project actively supports the participation of Travellers in all areas of health development within the community. This project is peer-led and employs trained Community Health workers, all of whom are members of the Traveller community. The Community Health workers carry out health promoting activities on an outreach basis focusing on Athlone and Mullingar.
WCD is now seeking a Community Health Worker to support the delivery of this programme.
About the Role
- Job Title: Community Health worker
- Location: Place of work will be either Athlone or Mullingar offices,
to be agreed with the successful candidate - Contract: Initial 1-year Fixed Term contract
- Hours: Part-time, 12-hours/week (usually over 3 days) with some
evening and/or weekend work expected - Salary: €14.19/hour

Interview Process
