In just a few months’ time, Mullingar will play host to Mullingar Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023.

This year the Fleadh will run from Sunday 6th August to Monday 14^th August 2023.

We are getting the ball rolling as we need Volunteers and are asking YOU to join us in helping making this one to remember! 

Would you like to be a part of the biggest event to come to Mullingar?

Following on from the success of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 we are now looking for volunteers to get involved for 2023. Volunteers have and always will be at the heart of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and the involvement of volunteers is absolutely crucial to the events success.

We were delighted to have the assistance of around 1,000 volunteers in 2022 to help with various roles looking after and welcoming over 500,000 visitors to Mullingar. We are expecting this year’s event, which takes place from Sunday 6^th to Monday 14^th August 2023, to be even bigger.

By volunteering at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 you will be a part of ‘The Homecoming’ welcoming it home to Mullingar for the second year running, where it all started many years ago. Participating as a volunteer will enable you to build new friendships, develop new skills and play an integral role in the success of the biggest festival of Irish culture in the world.

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers will be asked to fill a number of roles:-

• being street stewards
• assisting at competitions
• being part of our Green Fleadh
• being Fleadh Ambassadors
• volunteering at concerts
• helping with social media
• photography
• and many other roles

The minimum commitment is 4 hours and shifts vary from 4 to 8 hours depending on the role, with shift hours throughout the day and night meaning there is a role and shift time to suit everyone.

You can volunteer to just do one shift or as many as you like, its up to you. We will be grateful for whatever time you can spare to help.

Volunteers must be over 15. If a volunteer is under 18 parental consent will be required.

Training

Any volunteer who didn’t volunteer in 2022 will be asked to attend a mandatory training session in advance of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann which will be delivered from April onwards. Those who volunteered in 2022 will not need to attend the training.
